AHLN Executive Committee Meets in Istanbul to Advance Regional Cooperation

November 8, 2026

The Al Hurriya Liberal Network (AHLN) held its 13th Executive Committee meeting in Istanbul on September 4, 2026. Chaired by AHLN President Myrna Mneimneh, the meeting brought together committee members and strategic partners to assess the network’s direction and priorities.

Discussions addressed AHLN’s organisational development, cooperation among its members and partners, and preparations for the next General Assembly. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom’s MENA office (FNF MENA), VVD International, and the Swedish International Liberal Centre (SILC) participated as strategic partners, with Luuk Peeters representing VVD International.

Alongside this work, a new memorandum of understanding between FNF MENA, VVD International, and SILC reaffirmed the partners’ commitment to AHLN and its chapters. The agreement was highlighted by the network’s leadership as an important step in strengthening its institutional foundations and international partnerships.

The partnership’s significance extends beyond individual activities. It supports AHLN’s development as a lasting platform through which liberal organisations and voices across the region can cooperate, strengthen their representation, and engage with international partners.
